Hello everyone.
I could use any help with this one. I have a new M-20iA robot (using an R-30iA controller). There is no physical I/O installed in my robot controller but I do have Ethernet capabilities. So I want to use a MicroLogix PLC to control the robot I/O (Digital, Group, Analog, etc.) via Ethernet.
From reading the manuals, apparently I must have an "EtherNet/IP Adapter Option" loaded. I believe this will allow me to create a "virtual" robot I/O rack (with digital, group and analog inputs and outputs) that the PLC will control in the ladder logic.
Is this "EtherNet/IP Adapter Option" a software option I need to get (or purchase) from Fanuc?
And is this all I need that will allow me to communicate to my PLC so I can configure the robot I/O to respond to my PLC ladder logic?
Hopefully I'm making sense with my questions. I appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks!
