ethercat device connectivity
« on: February 05, 2018, 02:48:31 PM »
Good Afternoon/Morning all,
I'm trying to setup some additional IO with an Omron distributed IO module.

I can manage to do so, by importing the xml device descriptions to WorkVisual etc but this only works for the ethercat port on the flange.

Do any of the RJ45 ports on the Sunrise control unit support ethercat in this fashion? I think I've tried all of the combinations and permutations but on ecan never be sure, particularly when Workvisual is concerned.

Best regards

Ethercat I/O are added to KEB which is X44 on CCU which is then routed to X65 on the cabinet.

Thanks Panic mode,
I've just lifted the bonnet to double check this connection.
Does the position of added devices in the Work Visual tree affect their installation?.
It seems when I install the IO module in X44 - it works on the Flange connection  but not on X65..
Perhaps I need to de-install the media flange?

Best regards

Cracked it.. needed to insert Kuka Extension bus X44... not use the existing X48.. then it worked.
