JS30 - Not possible REC positions on teach-pendant
« on: October 20, 2017, 03:45:28 PM »
Hi,
I've got an old Kawasaki JS30 robot with an "AD" controller and I'm not able of recording positions with the teach-pendant. it's only possible recording positions with the keyboard on the controller.
What shall I do to make possible the positions recording with the teach pendant? Can someone help me?
Thanks and Regards,
SousaF

If it the physical switch that is not working, this is mounted on a pcb inside the teach pendant.
- No idea if these can be repaired or not.

I do have a couple of Teach Pendants 50817-1183 (Orange standard), one complete with harness and one without (both brand new).
- See attached.
- If your interested, in either then PM me and we could discuss details (I am open to any reasonable offer).

it's not a problem with the teach pendant, because I have tried with another working teach pendant and there was no results, as well. Probably is something wrong with the robot data or some "Rec inhibition", somewhere...
Does someone know if there is some command to disable the recording of positions, with the teach pendant?

If you can access the keyboard/display to enter commands try:

REC_ACCEPT and enter.
Should display options to enable/disable Record and Program Changes.

Are you sure about this command? On this robot and on other similar robots, this command is not accepted, in any written configuration. It returns the error message 401 "Invalid statement".

It's a command that's currently in use on C/D/E Controllers and I thought it may work on the old A/D Controllers as usually Kawasaki AS Language is generic.
So it appears not to be a valid command in the A/D then..........Looking at a backup, I cannot see any reference to REC inhibiting......it may not be a function.

Do you need to press another key in conjunction with the REC button........like the S key.

If you can access any operation manuals, it should mention the procedure for recording locations.

Aux Function 71 is the Record Data Inhibit Function.
- Goto this to toggle between accept/inhibit.

Looks like there is no AS Command for this, only via Aux Function.
