Hello all,

I'm trying to wire up the X3 connector  (Molex 40 pin connector) in one of the harnesses (cable P/N is 50979-1972)  on a C42 controller, the X3A connector side of the harness is already wired,
So I have to Wire connector X3 up on the other side of the harness but I don't have the connection diagram between them  ???...could anyone point me in the right direction to find it out?  :help:
thanks in advance.

I've found a signal harness wiring diagram (C4X) on section 5 of "C controller trouble shooting manual", but the pins don't match with what I do have on my cable.
Here is my history...I had the cable connected and working with my robot but someone here in the workshop had the brilliant idea to left a 50Kg plate on top of a tiny table nearby the robot controller, then "surprisingly", the plate has fallen off from the table, and landed over the harness cutting 33 of the 40 wires of the harness.

The connections of my 7 survived wires are

X3A connector     |    X3 connetor
PIN 3     -------------->     PIN 2
PIN 22   -------------->     PIN 38
PIN 39   -------------->     PIN 7
PIN 9   -------------->     PIN 13
PIN 23     -------------->     PIN 39
PIN 3     -------------->     PIN 2
PIN 29/30   -------------->    PIN 20/30

so not sure where can I find this configuration....any information would be very helpful

Hi

Hmmm, that's not good, hope it hasn't caused any other damage....

Can you confirm the Robot Model that's attached to the C42 Controller?
- Sometime the Interface cable can slightly differ between Models.
- I think on that interface, it is pin for pin.
- See attached.

Hope it helps............

Hi, kwakisaki
Thanks for your answer,
Yes isn't good at all, I'm worried too about something else got damage too...
The robot is a ZX165U and the controller a C42F...In regards of your attached JPG, yes that's the table that I've found on the " C controller trouble shooting manual"  but connectors aren't pin for pin, as the document shows.
I'm very lost
thanks again

PS: For some reason, I can't attach my pictures

Right ok........

I'm a little confused with the table you have provided.

Quote
X3A connector     |    X3 connetor
PIN 3     -------------->     PIN 2
PIN 22   -------------->     PIN 38
PIN 39   -------------->     PIN 7
PIN 9   -------------->     PIN 13
PIN 23     -------------->     PIN 39
PIN 3     -------------->     PIN 2
PIN 29/30   -------------->    PIN 20/30

So you are saying, the pins/cables above have survived, but you've repeated 'PIN 3     -------------->     PIN 2'
Which would mean you are down to 6 wires have survived, can you clarify this?

Attachments are added by using the '+Attachments and other options' which is the option directly below your message entry window as I've attached.

Hi, kwakisaki

Oh no sorry my bad, I have duplicated the line...

X3A connector     |    X3 connector
PIN 3     -------------->     PIN 2
PIN 22   -------------->     PIN 38
PIN 39   -------------->     PIN 7
PIN 9   -------------->     PIN 13
PIN 23     -------------->     PIN 39
PIN 29/30   -------------->    PIN 20/30
the last line has two pins in each side because they are connected to each other (jumpered)

Yes I did select attachments options as you are showing but isn't go through, will try again

So you managed the attachments in the end.....good man.
- And your pictures speak 1000 words.

Several types of cables exist with C and D Controller ranges (specifically the connectors)
- Harting and Molex......and these have differing pinouts.

Check your PM (top right corner - see attached) and reply to it.

Hi all,
I have the robot working again  :dance2: .... after to fix the cable, (thanks kwakisaki). I had a few problems to find out that  2 of the 3 fuses on the 1HP board were blown but, after to change them it was all going again.
I'm very impressing with the fact that, there was not a major damage considering that the metallic plate that fell off on my harness did create a massive 33 wires jumper.

God bless the fuses. :angel:

Excellent news.......very good to hear you've managed to repair the cable and also the fuses have done their job.
- Could have been a different  :censored: outcome.

I envy you to pursue repair of the cable, good job...... :respect:
