Data Tracking Method
« on: July 23, 2018, 06:52:19 PM »
Hello friends,

I'm currently looking to add some basic counters and monitors to our robots showing current production count. Has anyone had any experience doing this? Is there an easy way? This is what I found that looks pretty good. https://www.factracpro.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjw-dXaBRAEEiwAbwCi5hhJWKn3TY3re9DkSmvi1OPVrQTpQnbet5TQ1U4O_yWbbgEqzKv-2BoCyIUQAvD_BwE

What hardware do you already have?  In most factory installations, each line already has an HMI terminal, connected to the line PLC, that could have this information added.

Now, if you're looking for a JumboTron style display that can be seen over the entire factory floor, that's an entirely different problem.  I've seen large LCD TVs used for this, and also some billboard-style low-res displays that are essentially giant grids of LEDs.  Your biggest problem will be connecting them to, and controlling them from, your factory automation.  Your best bet is to go with an existing industrial setup (expensive, but most reliable and least trouble to set up) that is compatible with your factory FieldBus and your PLC controllers.
