I've heard rumors of an official Fanuc brake test that I can run to make sure each servo's brakes are functioning properly, but cannot seem to find any other information about what it is or where to get it.

Does anyone have a copy of or any information concerning the official brake test? Thanks!

Jog the robot in such a manner that the load is hanging out far away from the robot; imagine extending your arm straight out while holding a dumbbell.  With the servos still armed, press the e-stop or squeeze the deadman switch.  If the brakes are bad, the arm will drop down.

I don't know the specific tolerance for your robot, but it's usually less than half a millimeter.

Jog the robot and then let the robot coast to a stop on top of a dial. Let go of the deadman and the brakes wil apply.

I forgot the amount allowed of drop on the robot, but it's something less than a mm I think.
