I have a UP6 with XRC I just got 2nd hand. I'm trying to hookup  a gripper on it, using a air solenoid. I think it was originally used for welding. I programmed Hand On / Hand Off and traced down the wiring for voltage. On board JZRCR-XC002, CN05, wire 6 & 7 (EXSVON1-, EXSVON2+), I get negative 24 volts and postive 24 volts on each wire. But I need 2 positive 24 volts, I don't understand the negative.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks

this is for the external servo on. please check your schematic to find the CN with the output number you want. On that you will find also from where to get 0 and 24v

When I program hand on and hand off on the keypad, that is where it sends voltage. Is there a way to change which output hand on and off works with on the keypad?

Chang,

The simple answer is yes.  You can edit the concurrent I/O (CIO) and make any output come on when you want.

The sad part is, editing the CIO is not easy for those who don't understand the command structure.

Is there anything you can tell me, that can point me in the right direction on how to do this? Is there somewhere I can look and see what it is on now? Is there reading material out there that explains how to edit? Anything you can tell me is closer than where I'm at now. Thanks

Can I use dout instead of hand on/off? If so how do I find # for outputs?

Chang,

Yes you can use DOUT in place of HANDON/HANDOFF.  However, using DOUT will require your to turn one output off before turning the other one on or both solenoids will be on at the same time.  To do this on the pendant, you will have to use two keys, one for each solenoid.

Yeah never thought about that. I guess that would still work though. I would just have to put one to close the jaws, then move arm to next position, turn that input off, turn the next one on to open the jaws, move the arm back to pick up next part and all over again. I would rather use hand on/off but like you said I'm not proficient enough with editing the CIO yet. I have got to where you edit the user ladder but it's going to take a lot more studing before I can learn what to edit.
