Hi all
i am kind of confused because i canīt really understand the difference between external, universal and specific IOs. When i namly try to enter names of IOs on the Teach Pendant i get confused. If i want to connect the robot with a PLC, which signals (on the the Teach Pendant) i have to use. And what are all these signals for?
Thanks for helping

@Tony gast
thanks. Yes i have a DX100 Controller and no i didnīt or i donīt have the CIO manual. My problem is which signals i am going to use as external IOs (on the teach Pendant)?... those from the PLC?
Which signal i use for the general IOs(teach Pendant)?... the same as from the PLC or fthose from the profibus?
And what about the specific signals?
I confuse them all the time an need a way to get them in my head
Thanks for undertanding me

I recently went through all this, and being a Fanuc user, found motoman IO config very criptic.  However Mr. Gast & Mr. Guru were a big help in getting my head around it, even though I had the CIO manual.   I am now quite comfortable with it.

I'm thinking we should make the explanation of CIO a sticky post.
