Hi robot guys.

Was wondering about an issue i recently experienced.

Has any one of you ever encounter sudden CPU (NCP board) breakdown for NX100 controllers for no apparent reasons? For example, the controller is on, then after a brief shut down for some maintenance work, the controller encounters error (system check count failure). We later found out the CPU board is faulty.

Any ideas? This is the second time in 4 months i've encountered this problem.

Hi mymotoman,
I installed more than 20 robots NX100 (all HP20); I had some problems similar to yours, all the alarms regarding the cpu. Usually when I got this alarm, when I switched on the power supply, the lamp HOLD was permanently on, without having the possibility to do anything on the teach pendant. I realized that in reality no component was broken, but only reinitializing (from maintenance) the robot everything was ok. It seems like the compact flash had some problems. I don't know if your problem is like that and if someone else had this problem.
Hoping this can help you

Hello guys

In the first problem, try look in alarms for something, and post a new question, maybe you find the problem. Check backplane, cards and conections general.

In the second problem, you see only blue screen in the pendant? Try with the controller power off, keep the key main menu press, power on, and press for 10 seconds, wait a moment, after, if you see the logo screen Motoman and the next you see the screen maintenance, you have problems with configurations.

Sometimes the memory cards in CPU have problem, change the memory card!!!!

Hi guys.

In my case, I didn't receive any alarms, I can't even enter maintenance mode. The CPU just died.   Huh?

This can happen if the teach pendant cable has a short in it.  The pendant cable has a direct link to the CPU.
