Hello hgrmty:

Welcome to the robot-forum.

You are in the right place. We are all here to help each other.

Regarding Motoman info, we have a good selection of manuals for download, just look under Yaskawa Motoman Robot Forum and you'll see the manual section

To give a quick intro, during the years Motoman has developed different controllers   ERC, MRC, XRC, NX100 and the latest DX100.  (in order from the mid 80 to present)

Their robots (manipulators) name have some numbers and letters, the numbers represents the payload and the letters the model (what they are used for, what family they are from, etc, etc)

You are going to have to look for MRC or XRC controller infromation

Good luck in your internship

Hi

Check this out    http://www.robots.com/faq.php?question=motoman+controllers.

My brief personal opinion on all TP:
I think behind the first screen when you turn the robot on, everything looks the same. This is actually good,          Because going from MRC selecting F keys to icons on XRC and to the multiple screen on DX, you will find the same estructure underneath.
You would expect a VARIABLES list, a I/O list etc. For a programmer is great because you "kind of know" where things are
So, from one to to another they made it friendlier, like going from DOS to Windows 3.1 to XP (if you are old enough)

As far as the keyboard, I would say the keys are the same but in different locations, just looking for the right ergonomic design

from the site you gave, the MRC and XRC both use INFORM II as the programming language, so is it good for me to download the NS100 INFORM II manual Huh?

and since i can't find any specific manual about UP50, i download the one from XRC UP20 Manipulator Manual, is it good Huh?

thanks somar, you've been a great help, and this is a great forum !  grinser043 grinser043

Hi:

1) I havent seen those devices that you show in the picture ever
2) If you are getting External Hold that means that an external device is energizing that particular input. Look unde Specific Inputs and youll see if it's on or off.
It could be also the concurrent i/o program was programmed
