The AMS700 is a Tokico product; Motoman bought them in the '90s. You're going to have a very hard time finding those manuals, I have them here at work in the form of Japanese faxes. They are not easy to follow.

I have lots of experience with the AMS700 controller, let me know if you have any questions.

When the teach pendant finishes booting up:
1. Press F1 (this is the MENU button) to get to the main menu.
2. Press F6 (END) to get to the restart menu.
3. Press SHIFT + "up arrow" button. This brings up the language selection menu.
4. Press F2 for English. (F1 is for Japanese, and F3 is for Chinese.)
5. Press F6 (CANCEL) to cancel the restart menu.
6. Press F6 (RETRN) to go back to the main menu.

To turn on the servos, press the yellow "motor pwr" button.

I can't help you with that error code, I'm not familiar with it. It sounds like an external axis isn't reporting in. Give some more details about your robot and it's problems.

Spend more time with the robot and less time on this forum! That's the best advice I can give you. Very few people will be able to help you on a Tokico robot, but you seem to be advancing in your skills every time you post. Just keep practicing!

I'm not angry! It's simply that no one has the manuals to these robots, and very few people (even at Motoman) have the experience with them to be able to be very helpful. For instance, I have no idea what the "coefficient (k) gain servo" even means! However, I'm working on the origin question, I just have to make sure I remember how.

For setting the origin coordinates:
1. Move the robot to the "origin" position. There are usually pins or marks on each axis housing to indicate when it is at origin. For instance, there is a pin on the base housing and a pin on the axis 1 housing that align at the axis 1 origin.
2. From the main screen, go to the MGMT menu (F4), move the highlight around to options [16-20] and choose [Robot Constants] (F2).
3. On the [Robot Constants] screen, press Next (F1). That should be the [Offset Data] screen.
4. Double-check that the robot is at the origin position, and then press [Intake All Axis] (F4). (This is basically the "Zero" command that you may be familiar with from other robots.) You can also move the cursor to a particular axis and press Axis Intake (F3) to zero a single axis at a time. This is really useful if the origin position of the robot conflicts with equipment in your work cell.
5. Press Return (F6) and then Exec (F1) to accept the changes. Press Return (F6) to get back to the main screen.
