Hi guys!
I'm new to Motoman robots and to this forum and I would appreciate some

to start on .
I work on a SDA10D robot and a DX100 controller.
My first program will be to use an external input signal in order to move forward in the robot program.
Before start working on, I took a look over the I/O unit from the cabinet, its a JZNC-YIU02-E.
I search for more information about this unit on the cd that we got with the robot.
I have attached some pictures about what information I found regarding this unit and its connector in the Instructions_EuropeanStandard.pdf.
My understanding on this diagram is as follows( please correct me if I'm wrong ):
1. the external signal should be connected to B1...B4 or A1...A4
2. B1 is connected to the resistor from the opto-coupler.
3. this should lit the led and produce on the other side 24V and max 8mA.
What rely confused me in the diagram is when I saw that B1 should be connected to ground through a NO switch.
What's unclear to me its how I connect my external signal to the connector?
How do I turn on the optocoupler since everything will be connected to ground?
Thanks for your time and patience.
