Is there a way to allow variables to be changed from pendant during job execution in remote mode?

When you say changing variables do you mean position variables, byte variables, real variables? What are you trying to do exactly with the robot?

Any variables except positions, that is D,I,R,B.
The goal is to adjust speeds, offsets, PL values, etc during job execution.

Can I ask you what type of application you are trying to apply these speed changes to during play back mode?

Somar is right in saying to use the PAM function to change speed and PL from the pendant in Play.  Other than that you can not change any values in the robot from the pendant when in Play mode.

I'll look on Monday.  There is a parameter, I believe a S2C, that gives you a I/O Var customization screen.  This screen comes under the sub-menu of whatever the application icons is in the MAIN MENU.  You can set this screen up with variables and I/O to monitor or change even in play.

I don't care much for this screen as someone in OPERATION can change things.

S2C299=1  will allow you to change the I/O status along with B, I, and D variables while in PLAY.

PAM will work as long as the step are not position variables.

Tried S2C299=1, the variables are still unaccessible for writing during play.
Should I change them in usual menu Main/Variable or somewhere else?

I/O Var customization screen is in the Application submenu.

MAIN MENU, Whatever the second icon down is in the MAIN MENU (Arc, Handling, General).  You can set this screen up with variables and I/O to monitor or change even in play.

S2C299=1  will allow you to change the I/O status along with B, I, and D variables while in PLAY.

Discovered, that this method allows to change variables in Play mode, but not during job execution.
Changing variable value during job execution restarts the job.
Is there a way to avoid the job restart?
