Can you explain what is happening.  Think the reason no one has replied is we don't understand the question.  What is the auto shutoff function?

Using the backward tells me you are in teach and doing path confirmation.  In teach, you can turn on "weld in teach" but that works with Interlock- Test Start, depending on the controller.

That's all I can figure out from the question.

In a NX100 Job the Welding On button should stay on unless you leave the job that you are currently in to goto another job. For instance if you are in JOB: WELD_SEAM_1 then you direct open to another job the weld on will and should turn off.

I believe it it is with the software, not a parameter.

the "WELD ON" button is a function parameter that is enabled by motoman and there are no related parameters to change the functionality of it. I believe it is tied to "arc continue" in software and this is why it turns itself off when the backward key is used.
