We have quite a few AMS700 robots. They were originally Tokico which was later purchased by Yaskawa Motoman. Motoman does a very poor job of helping us with these, so any spare parts for the robots or controllers would be helpful. We aren't in a terrible bind since we have an entire spare robot + controller, but parts are always welcome.

Where abouts are you located?
I think Tokico made paint robots which Motoman bought out years ago.  I have no knowledge of these Tokico robots but are they at all similar to Motoman's PX robots??

Having a spare (Tokico) robot is the way to go!!

Good luck with your search!

We're in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. You've got the Tokico/Motoman history correct. It's made for a support nightmare. I don't know much about Motoman robots beyond the newest ones - we just got an HP20D.

They do not follow the same conventions as other modern robots, so the amps have to be turned on before the servos. The button for that may be called "motor power" or "power on". There is a 2nd step to actually turn on the servos, and that is that once you are in Teach mode (by pressing F1-Teach then F1-Exec) you press the FWD button to enable the servo motors.

The best thing you can do is keep working with them. I got my robot training on these robots, so other robots seemed foreign to me at first. However, now that I've dealt with other brands of robots, these AMS700 robots seem completely crazy.

Hi there.  I have an item that I THINK is a TOKICO item.  It looks to be an old 'teach pendant', and is marked 'ok'.  I obtained in a an auction, held at Motoman a couple of years ago.  I don't see any part numbers on it, but the box is marked OBA-7, Modity Console.  The buttons on the overlay are NOT worn, but it is just dusty.  It has a LONG cable attached.  Would this be of interest?
