I have a couple projects coming up in which I'd like to display robot variables on a touch screen.  I've read that the CS8 controller's ethernet port is a modbus server.  If my touch screen has modbus capabilities, can I retrieve and manipulate program variables from touchscreen?  Has anyone implemented this before?

Hi,

I heard, that Staubli has an example project showing data exchange between a CS8 and WinCCflexible using modbus. I never tried it, but I see no reason why a data exchange between touchpanels and a CS8 using Modbus should not work.

If Im not wrong, a german company called Suetron has Touchpanels with Modbus client.
Would be nice, if you can give your experience for panels with modbus support

It will work if your panel is a Modbus TCP Client
