Staubli RX90

Hi everyone

I am currently working on an old robot staubli Rx90 with controller CS7.

The controller had somewhat been damaged during relocation. I had replaced the parts with visible damage, but unable to start the controller and the robot.

Is there anyone out there who have have experience working on this controller? We can discuss thru this group or perhaps you can directly email me, I can give some token of appreciation if your input can fix the problem.

Hi Easy,

I will try.
First of all, can you explain me more accuracy what is the problem and which parts you changed.
Important thing to have.
 3 Floppy disks with system (yellow label), tools(blue label),  (green label)
Tell me operating system.

Important information to give me
Message on screen
leds on 030 board (4 leds tell me status and color)
leds on SIO board (2 colums of 4 leds status and color)
leds on Safety board (back side of the cabinet, tell me status of all leds on the board)

Hello,

Can pls put more details information of the error of you CS7 controller?
Such as the LED light of the board?  Error from the V+ terminal?

and pictures of this information shoudl be more helpful.

Any way, CS7 is very older controller of staubli. I have do more on this kind of controller, so just send me message or put all informations here.

Dear All,

I have basically replaced some of the broken cables and replaced or repaired some of the control knobs that were broken.

There is no signal that goes to the monitor, so i cant read anything there.

so I tried using the teach pendant but there is error as well.

I ll take some pictures of the controller LEDs so perhap you can make someting out of it.

Ill post the pics later.

Hi everyone ,

Here are a few of my observations,;

Robot arm cannot be powered. The red fault light on the front panel continue to show, and the green led at the right of the lower front panel do not light up.

The pendant display show communication error.

The upper front panel show many red LEDs .

And the PCB behind the front panel show 2 to 3 red LEDs . I think 1 of them means emergency stop.

Pls let me know what I need to do. Thanks in advance.

more info ...

there are 3 disks, but they are disk copies, with no documentation of what they are.

one disk contains system files *.sys dated 16 sep 1994. perhaps u can guess what operating system and version this is by looking at the dates.

another disk contains 2 files loc1.lc  and  spec_cal.v2

and the third disk contains 16 files of the *.v2  extension

no LED light on the 030 board.

the SIO board show 2 LEDs on, green ok and red e-stop

the safety board have 2 red LEDs light , that is the D33 and the D5

I hope i gave enough info to get somewhere. Please let me know if there are other things i need to look into.

Hi Easy,

Ok I suspect you have any problem on 030 board, but, I suggest you to unplug all the boards on ADEPT area unless 030, SIO and ACB. and tell me something.
By waiting when you power on the cabinet on 030 board if some led lights tell me.

Do you have any way to obtain to make a test an other 030 board?

   If no lights flash on even when you first turn on the power, there is a good chance there is a problem with the 030 card

In the photo of the backplane, there appears to be no red LED's lit, is that correct?  They should be numbered D1, D2....D20 or so.

hi all,

when i turn on the power, all the 4 red LEDs of the 030 board would simultaneously light up a fraction of a second, then LED 3 and 4 will turn on a second, and then LED 2 and the top green light for less than a second. after that all lights on 030 board is off.

can anyone understand something out of this?
 
i dont have a spare 030 board.

i had unplugged and plugged back the 030 and the SIO boards and result on the LEDs remain the same.

Hi Easy,

your 030 stopps during the Proc. board selfttest. Normally the led pattern shoul tell if there is a problem.

I think that the 030 is defect, because it stopps before the watchdog test starts. You can read this from the led's you described.
