I have been trying to determine the EOL for the following products:

1. RX60
2. RX60CR
3. CS7MB
4. CS7B

I need effective EOL dates and support status for these products from a service and spares perspective.

Any help?

Staubli says they support them, but the truth is that they are all obsolete and dead.  There are a few folks out there who are trying to support them on a 3rd party basis because some customers refuse to purchase any new replacement arms.

This is a question that always gets a muddy answer for business reasons.  Your probably a year or two away from the official EOL date from the mfg (electronic parts) and 3-4 years away from the mechanical EOL.  In reality, this stuff tends to remain in stock longer than the EOL date.  The old saying goes:  "If money on the line, then replace it on time."  I'd be looking at ways to replace those machines in the next couple of years.  Even if they are used CS8 machines, you'll be in the clear on EOL for a while.

RX60 and RX60CR  last date of manufacture was Dec 2001
CS7 and CS7M last date of manufacture was Dec 1999

Please note you may have a system shipped after these dates. Some times we would customer to preorder systems. Staubli would buy the part ahead of time and not assemble until the order was placed.

Staubli offers 7 years of support for electrical / electronics / software and 10 years for mechanical components. Technically all are out of support for electrical / electronics / software, the controllers are out of mechanical support (not that they have many mechanical components), and the arms are in the last year of mechanical support.

Having said all that, Staubli is currently able to get most parts for the systems listed above and does stock most of them. We do not know how much longer we will be able to. If you want to keep those systems running, I would stock up on parts. The parts are expensive. They are not being made in quantity any more and our suppliers have raised their prices. It may make more sense to replace your RX / CS7 systems with new TX60 / CS8C systems.

I believe the CS7MB and CS7B were EOL early to mid 2000's, after the CS7 an CS7M.

Forgot about the 'B' series. the CS7B and CS7MB had a last date of manufacture in December 2003. They are near the end of electrical / electronic / software support. I am not sure how parts we can still get / have left in stock for support beyond the end of the year.
