Hi TRBe,

can you precise the robot type?
Stäubli has
- RX170, which is the "standard robot",
- RX170HP, which is the so called "heavy payload" variant of the RX170 with a modified wrist
- RX170HSM, which is a new machine where the standard wrist is replaced by an integrated high speed spindle from Fischer/Precise. This system is developped for milling applications, all needed mediums (fluids, electric, etc.) needed for the spindle are built in the arm - no external harness.

Hi Spielkind,

The RX170HSM with the spindle mounted in the wrist.
I have done milling with Motoman and ABB. I have no idea if Staubli is better or more accurate.
I hope we have one soon for testing!

Hi TRBe,

sorry for the late answer, but I couldn give you news. But maybe now I have news for you.
I saw on Hannover fair a RX170HSM milling on a both from the CETIM.
According to them, the robot can have a accuracy of 0.2 mm on the path during milling. They said, this is a very very good result for a standard IR.
