Hi folks,

has anyone any kind of experience with the ABB Trueview Vision system especially bin picking and 3D applikations? And would you be so kind and share these exp. with me? especially cycletime for bin picking and price  biggrins.
I saw the datasheets and videos an ABB's homepage, quite intersting.

Thanks in advance,
Minimann

I have integrated about 6 or 7 TrueView systems.

It is not that bad of a system and works very well when it is setup for 3D (XYZ and Rot XYZ)..

The problems I have seen has been on sheet metal and cams. If there are not enough usable features then you would be limited to 2D (XY and rotation Z) or 2.5D (XY and Rot XYZ).

Depending on what you want or need. ABB (TrueView) has done it before.

ABB recently (Spring 09) put a random bin picker online. Now that is some impressive stuff. It keeps snapping photos and calculating pick positions until it finds one that it can obtain safely.

Prices vary depending on each system and the requirements.  We were doing 30 seconds Home to Home unloading V8 Engine Blocks and 20 - 30 seconds home to home unloading V8 heads.
