Hello

I'm a problem with my puma 500 unimate.

When I turn it on, it always displays BRK RELASE ON message on teach pendant. The problem is the BRAKE RELEASE switch is OFF and I can't start the robot. I don't know where the problem is and I can't work with PUMA because it doesn't start.
The controller is a MARK 2.

What should I do?

thank you very much

puma.

Thank you

I've just seen the html page: my puma start correctly but teach pendant says BRK RELEASE ON when the swhitch on the controller is OFF. So I can't switch it off and I can't Start completly the robot. The problem is strange because sometimes the robot work correctly sometimes doesn't start.
So I checked controller many times but I didn't find anything... I don't know where the problem is.

Tank you

puma

If the robot works fine after sitting for a while it is most likely a blown Pico fuse on the high power function board. It is easily checked. remove the bottom cover turn the arm power off put your meter set to DC on the two large discharge caps (blue) make sure they both discharge the same. I seem to remember a problem with the power amp board so check that the ribbon cable is plugged in correctly.

Hope this helps!
