Currently I'm trying to bring a Comau S2 robot controlled by a C3G-901 controller back to life. In spite of all the practical problem I come across (the robot hasn't been touched for over 5 years), noone here has the password ("CCR" command) to the bootmonitor. From previous experiences it's known that one can break in on the bootmonitor by using a windows hyperterminal (with configuration 9600 bps, 8 bit data, no parity, flow control Xon/Xoff).  This hyperterminal does echo the commands "$M" and "bm" (which are as far as I know the commands to break into the bootmonitor), but it seems that the timing is important....
Does anyone have any experiences with these kind of problems with a C3G? Is there another way to get into the bootmonitor?

Thanks.

Hi what is the Teach pendant displaying ?
is it asking for download and tring at different speeds?
if so then you need to connect with a pc and install the system software! (you can NOT use hyperterminal for this!!)

my friend;
you must have the system disks which includes robot's serial on it. You must put them into the floppy disk drive while in DOS Mode and then you should get in the disk and then type C3GBOOT and then enter. Now it must start downloading the system software but BE CAREFULL : You have to use FDU Serial Port which stands inside of the controller close to the right-top-corner. You can not do these actions by using the COMP Serial Port which stands outside of the controller. Please notify us when u succeded in ;)
