Dear Friends,

I'm a student. Right now I'm working with KUKA KR 6/2 robot with KUKA KRC1 controller. I 've a few enquiries. Is it possible to install WinXP into the KRC1 controller to upgrade the operating system Win 95. What hardware should I change if I want to use WinXP instead of buying new KRC2? Please advise.

This is not possible the KRC1 MFC card amongst others is not supported in XP versions

You must use a KRC2.

MMmm you can install xp on a krc 1 but you needs lots of ram at least a celeron 400 pc and it has to be an early version of xp which would be hard to gt hold of The old version would also be problematic and proberly not supported as it would not be recommended

Are you sure that if I'm upgrading the contoller processor to Celeron 400 and using the new version of XP, I won't facing any problem in the future? How about the real time operating system Vx Work? Do I need to change it? How about the motherboard of the processor? From my knowledge in Personal Computer if we want to upgrade from Windows 95 to Windows XP, we have to upgrade the RAM, Processor and motherboard as well. Do you have any experience using KR C1 with Windows XP?
