For the AS-software you have to contact Kawasaki-support. We use the ones in Germany. They are usually very helpful.

If they get the serialnumber, model and controllertype they should be able to send you the latest AS software for your model. Please also ask for a guide on how to install it, I know it’s a bit tricky.

If the AS-software is gone you probably also need the SV-software, and when both of them are changed to newest version, you also need the newest MFP-software (Multi function panel). To change this you probably need a 32mb compact flash card in a pcmcia-card converter. The slot for this is in the back of the teach panel.

AS and SV can be changed with cabel-connection. MFP must be done with flash.

The reason your seeing the AS keyboard screen when booting up is because you have lost volatile information. The software resides on Flash. When the batteries died, this information was lost. You will need to replace the batteries or the problem will return. There is both batteries on the back plane the back up the CPU and in the robot to back up the encoders.
Power down the controller. On your CPU 1GA / 1HA there is a series of 8 white dip switches on a red switch point. Flip 8 to the on position and power up your contrller. The controller will ask initialize? answer (1)yes. it will then ask are you sure ? yes or no? do not enter yes or no. Enter 9894. At that point the controller will go through an initialization process. After doing so, power down the controller, turn the switch off.
Now the fun begins... You need to either ask the previous owner for an all data save back up to load in? (.AS file), maybe there is one on a flash card in the controller if your lucky. OR you will need to look in the controller and see if there is a data sheet with all the information to enter into the controller.  By initializing it, you will lose all your robot, aux, system, etc. data, but you need to do so to get past the point you are at.
Best of luck

hi guys, thanks for all the respond.

I've just started again the robot today, and I don't know somehow the multifunction panel (MFP) works!
I don't know whether this is good or not, in the MFP error displayed. It says:
Error 1251
Error 1251
Error 1407

can anybody help me to solve the error, meanwhile i read the troubleshooting manual book.
Thanks.

I have inspected that there's no problem in connection, will it be my 1GA or 1GB error? is there any way to trace it before we conclude that the 1GA/1GB damaged?

on the error codes explain:
-ensure software version are correct => how do I know whether the software of my controller correct or incorrect?
-ensure AUX 928 setting is correct => what is AUX 928? and how to check the setting?
-replace the 1GA , servo boards, and each harness => why do we need to do this?

thanks.

Choose ”Keyboard menu” on the MFP.

Type in “id” and press Enter. Now you should see the As-software version end the Servo version. Next you open the Controller cabinet and read the version numbers from label on the inside of the cabinet door. These numbers should match each other.

Open the “Function menu” on the MFP.

Type “928” and press Enter. Now you should be in the “setting”.

Hi Selquist, thanks for your reply.

I wish I could choose a menu. Everytime I clicked the menu button on MFP touchscreen, there's no respond but the MFP redisplay (repopulate) the previous similar error list, that is:
Error 1251...
Error 1251...
Error 1407...
So how do I go to Keyboard Menu or Function Menu?

By the way, I have succeeded to communicate between pc and controller using usb to serial conv.

Congratulations on making connection with the robot :-)

If you KCWin32 works then you can use that instead of the keyboard menu.

When connected type "ID" and you see the version info.

To check menu 928 first type "Z9894" and press enter,  then "1" to change and press enter again. Type "Zoption_8" and press enter
Press enter until the menu "Motion Type2" appears. Type "1" to change, though this is propably not the reason you get the errors...

You might need to doublecheck all connections on the 1GA and 1GB board, check for broken pins etc...

If the AS software is missing it will not matter what you do with  kcwin or the Pendant. The processor doesn't even know it is in a robot at this point.

Both the errors you are getting are common with a 1ga board that has lost its AS.S [advanced superior software]

You will need to contact Kawasaki with the robot serial number and they should send you the as_load.cmd and the .bin file for your robot.

Then set dip 1ga//1ha s2 to [1 on, 3 on, 5 on, 8 on] the rest off. Power down the controller. Insert the flash with the (2) files form Kawasaki (.cmd and .bin) and power up the controller. The screen will come up blank and wait for you to initiate the software load. Press the corners of the pendant screen opposite each other cata-cornered and the software installation will begin. Once complete, turn the controller off.

Turn off all the dips but 1 and 8. reboot.

The robot will ask if you want a reboot, you do. Enter (1) and then when it ask you if you are sure?  enter (9894).

Now it will ask about the memory, select (0)  in most cases, unless you have expanded memory; which you likely do not.

Let the robot boot-up.

At this point you have a clean robot with a check-sum error. use AUX function 78 or the as command [chsum] to clear that error and continue.

You will likely have other errors and we can go from there. Be careful these are not toys!

The next time you power off turn off the 1ga/1ha dip s2 (8 off). This is the switch that has the robot prompt  (do you want to ini?) every time it boots up. It doesn't hurt anything but is annoying and potential can erase all your programs and settings if somebody selects yes.

Now you need to either configure the robot or load an old .AS file into it with all  the robot, system, aux data  and programs.

Chances are, your back-up battery is dead. so do not leave the controller off very long, or you will be doing it all over again. The 1ga/1ha has a memory capacitor that will keep the software on the board for a spell but not indefinitely as you have found out.

Cheers and ggod luck

THANKS ALL!!!

the robot just move!!!!
I use as program from former user and it runs!

now I'm wondering how do I teach the robot from my self. but the first, i wonder how to jog the robot. I don't have the C controller operation manual. I have D controller and the MFP is really different with mine. my MFP doesn't have any manual button on it.
How do I jog manually this robot?

thanks.
