Greetings,

I've got a couple UX150 robots that experience bad batteries with leakage on the main board and have lost everything. They come up with a screen I am not familiar with, not quite as basic as a dos command prompt but not far from it.

Do any of you know how to recover and restore a workable robot from this situation.

I am not sure Kawasaki will want to support since those were bought used.

Thanks!

When the batteries corroded or exploded they probably covered the traces. Once you lost the batteries and powered down all your volatile information was lost. If the board is repairable, or not damaged, but only lost the batteries then you need to soldier on new batteries, initialize and reload your all data save from your floppy disk. If the CPU is damaged, then you can send it to Kawasaki to be repaired, then again, you need to initialize and reload you're all data save. If you do not have an all data save, then you will have to enter the information manually using a data sheet. Kawasaki will support any Kawasaki robot. You may need to be set up as a customer to receive service, but I do believe you can still buy / order parts. If you have lost the CPU batteries, you probably also need the encoder batteries and if you have a 1AS board, their batteries. Another concern with old batteries corroding and exploding is the acid can also get on the backplane, or other components.  Best of luck!
