Hi Friends,

I have a problem with my D controller. When i turn the power on nothing boots up and i have a look on the 1 KA board and aights are all on including red error led.

I have tried to log on to the 1ka Via the serial port via teraterm but no go!!! Teratern won't go online to the board.

I have swapped out the 1ka for another from a spare robot i have and all works fine.

I have two robots with the same problem, im thinking there has been some sort of memory corruption...does anyone have any ideas.

I have probed pretty deep so any advice would be of great value at this point.

Thanks,

Kwak!!

Have you checked the dip switches and jumper settings between the one that works and the one that is bad? If so, you may need to initialize the controller and reload the back up. The software resides on a small daughter board, if you are missing this board then you have no software.

Hi There,

Thanks for the info.

All the dip switches are in the correct positions as per the manuals and the good board. The problem for me is that the boot screen of the software on the pendant will not even show.

Usually with issues like this you can connect directly to the 1ka via the serial port with teraterm but i cant even do that!!

Anyone else have any ideas?

You can not connect through teraterm because your not through boot up.When you power up, does it show anything? For example, kernal in forever loop, or something along them lines? Since another board works,  as you know the problem is with your 1KA. Are the pins bent where it plugs into the mother board? Have you tried swapping the daughter boards from the good to the bad? The daughter boards hold your software. If you have no software it is an easy situation to fix. These are the last 2 things I could think of based on what you have provided so far.
