Is CFK an acronym for Carbon Fibre Composite?

Hi jimtyrer,
yes it is this material. We will makes a robot application with sawing and defining for small parts. We must hold a tolerance of +/- 0.2 mm. We must know a little bit of the sawing parameters and the character of this material.

Thanks a lot.

Have never actually done it, but we were looking into an application where the customer wanted to machine CF,
but there were so many environmental problems (in Canada) with carbon dust that it was too expensive for them to
put in all the safeguards.
It was also bad for electrical circuits (for obvious reasons)
I think they ended up molding their parts with a pulltrusion process.
An easy way might be to find a supplier of sawblades/cutting tools and get them to help you.
The Swiss and the English do quite a bit of this sort of thing. Will probaby take diamond tipped tools to do the job and still be able to
make money out of it.
