Hi,
At the moment we use a copper coated wire supplied by ESAB. This is the generic welding wire that they sell. It works ok.
However in a previous job i have used a silicone coated wire  aklso supplied by ESAB and i found that we had a reduction in the number of liners and the number of welding tips that we used. we put this down to the silicone coating not clogging up the liner like the copper coating can . We also found that there we less arc ignition problems. Esab put this down to the coating they use on the silicone wire which they said is easier to start ignition with. Hope this helps.
