Has anyone used laser seam searching/tracking for arc welding???
I am looking into this as the systems we employ currently measure arc length and require weaving which is causing premature aging of equipment.
I hope it may avoid missed searches and collisions due to incorrect wire stick out length when searching/welding.
It may also reduce cycle time.
Any help and advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Sorry I have never heard of laser seam tracking only comarc style, but have had really good performance with a wire brake on the torch, so the wire can't move while in the touch routine.

You might try www.servorobot.com. There are others, but expensive. Better late than never.
