The CSA standard Z434-03 clause 11.3.3  says that you require a panic release button on the inside of the door?

I have a servo disconnect mounted on the wall before you enter and you lock that out before entering.

In teach mode you have the pendant with you with the estop.

In my experience with robots i have only seen this once that the door switch had a panic release button is this standard practice?

I am not an expert on CSA standards, but I think they are referring to doors with locks. Some installations require you to power down the robot before the door will unlock and let you in. If you are in side and some starts up the cell, the doors would lock. These types of doors should have a way to open lock from the inside so you can get out.

We install an e-stop button inside the door. This will stop the cell and unlock the doors. On our lines, any e-stop has to unlock all doors. This is the same concept as the door unlock in a walk in freezer. You don't want someone to padlock you in.

I'm a bit confused
You said "inside the door".      Is that equal to "inside the cell/room/..." ?
Nobody can "padlock you in" because you had to put your own padlock first.
Shouldnt the padlock prevent mechanically and electricallly been locked inside  ?
