Dear All,
I am new to industrial robotics but my company has put me in charge of choosing a robot for a plasma cutting work cell.  We want to buy just a robot and build our own work stations around it.
We have narrowed our choices down to Fanuc or Motoman.

We are currently leaning towards Motoman because we can deal directly with them instead of through Lincoln Electric with Fanuc.

Between these two companies who will give us the best customer support?
Which one is easiest to add Input/outputs (safety switches, sequencing etc.)?

We need to cut 16ga stainless to very close tolerances along elliptical compound curves, so ease of programming and the controllers ability to generate 3D splines will be important to us.

Please write with any feedback you might which can help me make this decision.

It looks like we will be going with the Motoman robot for our application.  They have lower prices and I am hoping there will be less fingerpointing when we need help since they will package everything for us.
