Real nice job.
In my case, it makes me travel (few divisions around the world).
The paid is very good.
Learn a lot every day.

No routine, you need to constantly update yourself.

Don't forgot: to be a good Robotics Engineer, you should know a lot about processes the robots work with.

Absolutely right.

When I am doing some special cases with process, oh my god, a new window open for me. I love this kind of learning.

a stack of robot engineer resumes is piling up at the office from kuka, abb, motoman and fanuc... robot companies must be loosing money as they have fired many and no one hiring for robots... maybe it will change sometime but now it is the worst in years.

There are a lot of robotic engineers out of work in the USA right now. With the automotive slowdown, a large number are looking for work. Fanuc USA has cut their staff a lot, so has ABB USA, and Kawasaki USA. I am sure others have as well. The automotive industry and all the feeder plants employed a LOT of robotics people at one time. Now, the number of plants has fallen drastically.
Not trying to bust your bubble, just be aware that the market is soft right now. I would expect it to pick up in the future, but it may take a while.
I am working in the glass handling end of the market right now, so I am doing OK. My last job was at Bobcat Attachments, they closed down.
