Hello, I have a motoman robot at home in the basement that I have powered with a phase perfect digital phase convertor. I have played around with it a little bit but have not found that great idea with what to do with it. Does anyone else have a machine at home that uses it for any definite purpose??

Most of us want to have nightmares at work only.
Divorce will be a good excuse for my wife.

What robot do you have ?

Ha! I have a motoman sv3x which is an xrc controller machine. About 1300 hours on it. I have bought several smc pneumatic grippers but have not done anything with them yet. I would ideally like to figure a way to make some $ with it. My wife does not so far appreciate my investment.....

May be you should try and put it to do away with the dishes or cleaning the windows... this way may be your wife may appreciate your investments....

You could learn the moto programming language very deeply.  Use that educational expense to go out and be a freelance programmer.  Your first gig will most likely pay for the robot.  The second gig will buy your wife some diamonds or a nice vacation.

I have always wanted a paint robot and program it to serve mix drinks in my basement bar. Would work great with servo driven pumps to get the correct alcohol mix ratio!

Robot bar. Definitely Robot bar.

Otherwise, I'm a guitar nut - so having a robot to do a perfect restringing of my guitar ... wiring of guitar amps ..  I could go on and on

What about a robot ice cream machine like the one these kids made at uni!

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/vEQd4aubPgk&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/vEQd4aubPgk&rel=0</a>

Take it out to football games and make a killing!

You could then buy the wife diamonds!  And you a bigger robot!

Cheers,

Adrian

You could make statues of soccer players, like this one........ http://nike.jp/football/future/

You could make your wife some nice shoes..........  <a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/YM3gGHifaKw&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/YM3gGHifaKw&rel=0</a>

You could program it to bake and cook......... http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=WBXYQK8-wK0&feature=related

You could buy one more, then program them to play for you....<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ti5gzr7Wsc&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/8ti5gzr7Wsc&rel=0</a>

You could let your kids have some fun.........http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=p-xCh7deefs&feature=related

You could be making coffins for funeral homes......http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=R1c9nW090v0&feature=related

Lots of ideas :)
