We normaly use Adept controller for our custom build robots. To give an easy interface for the operator we're using Siemens MP277 and Allen Bradley panels (used to be Exor and Siemens TP270). The communication goes by Modbus TCP (used to be Modbus RTU) directly between the panel and the controller.

We now are putting in more and more Kawasaki robots. For these we are using the pendant for starting the robot and changing some basic parameters. If the robot is integrated and interfaced with a PLC normaly the parameters are send by Profibus.

After a short discussion with a colleague we were wondering:

How do other suppliers provide the opperator a interface to the robot?
