hi guys i  want to design mobile robot which can freely move on desire surface and by reaching on desired point ,robot lock its base on that point .for moving base we can use wheel or ...any thing which fulfill over requirement ...surface will be also self define its just up to us.....
reason for discussing here.... may be i will get some good thoughts from you guys  icon_wink!!!!!!!

What is your application? what is your payload? What kind of Robot? Frame of reference could be a problem.
