Which Robot brand do you want to learn?
KUKA, ABB, FANUC..ETC.
Then focus on the one and get manuals from here and read, read, read.

I suggest KUKA, because it is the most open format robot.

I am not on your opinion.
Motoman is more open - my opinion. anyway the information is on line ...
and the support and programing language is more open on Motoman than Kuka. this is a fact.
See the manual Inform on manual section

You can start with servo motor logic, plc logic, maybe a little programming. After all these things watch some youtube videos and read general information about industrial robots and processes. You can download some trial version of simulation software for testing robots then just choose a brand (abb, kuka, fanuc... ) and  improve yourself.

I have started with ABB then i've learned kuka, motoman, fanuc also, in my opinion every logics of robots are same just learn the industrial robots and simulation software can help on this.
