I just reinstalled the controller software for our Fanuc ArcMate 100 robot (R-J controller). Unfortunately, no previous data was saved (i.e TP programs, mastering info, etc.). Now I have the tedious task to reprogram everything from scratch as well as set the various robot configurations. We used only two programs fro this robot so it's not really that bad.

Anyway, the problem I'm having is that whenever I move the axis 5 (J5) up/down in teach mode, the brake won't lock the axis everytime I release the deadman switch (DS). So if I move it 90 degrees and release the deadman switch, it droops down because of gravity. All the other axises are locked when I release the DS.

Can anyone help or direct me to where I need to go to set that axis to lock the servo brake when I release the DS. I'm sure it's pretty easy but I really don't know what setting I need to set. I'll appreciate anyone's help.

Thanks.
