I am going to use old M16iB Robot with RJ3iB controller for routing purpose.
I have to change 2 pulse coder of it. After that i have to remaster it.
Problem is there is no marking left on the robot.
How important is accuracy of mastering if i am using shape generation option for routing process.

Also i am doing this first time, what care should be taken for routing process?

Thanks and Regards

Find out, using picture or manuals where is the 0,0,0,0,0,0 position of the robot.
I dont know which axis you are talking about but you can measure if axis 1 in facing the front, axis 2 is perpendicular, etc, etc  and do your own marking. make it to last forever

"How important is accuracy of mastering"   Once YOU mastered it (not Fanuc, YOU), then the accuracy it's on you. Let say in a month from now you lose the batteries and you have to remaster. Well, if what you did before (witness marks) are good, just go back to then and you're done

BTW just master those two axis, dont do the whole robot

Chances are for routing, with the accuracy you want mastering using the witness marks would not be accurate enough. Especially if you are using Offline Programming
