I am going to install rj3ib 430iw through ethernet , to compact logix .
has any one done this and can offer any insight?

hello,
if you are planning use EGD (Ethernet Global Data) the ethernet protocol it's not compatible for AB processors. You will need the Ethernet IP protocol.
please provide us more detailed info about your system.

As Dave says, EIP is the option you want.
You will need a PAC code from Fanuc to enable it if it is not installed already.
I found it to be very good, easier to setup than DevNet.
