Hi
Can anyone help me please.
I can not get into the position registers screen on the RJ2 that I am using.
The data button brings up the registers option but when I press F1 there is only one type (1: Registers).
I have done a control start and set the number of position registers to 20
I have also tried to program a position register but only get the option to use ordinary register.

Thanks in advance.

Probably your Quick menus are ON.

Go to FCTN - Next page - toggle between Quick/Full Menus then visit your data screen...

This should help you.

Thanks, but I have already tried that and it is the same.
I thought it may be a system variable that needs to be set.
Very frustrating.

Can anyone tell me if this is a core software problem or is there any other way to get into the position registers.
Thanks

You mentioned you tried to program "program a position register but only get the option to use ordinary register". Have you tried to use a position register for a motion statement in the program? i.e. teach a point, cursor over to the P[] and press CHOICE, it should let you change it to PR[] (Position Register).... If you can't do this then it appears there is a software option or something that you don't have...? However I wasn't aware that Position Registers were an option....?

I have tried that, it only allows to save as a P[] there is no PR[] option.
The program init did allow me to change the number of Position Registers, so it does have them, I just can not access them.
The software is V4.2 with Spot Tool.
I was hoping there might be a system variable to change that displays the PR screen, like the one mentioned earlier on this forum that displays the world co-ordinates.

No variable that I could find...

Although the one described below may be worth a try:

$TP_INST_MSK[1-2] (Teach pendant editor instruction mask)
Description: Index 1 is used as a mask to turn on selected teach pendant instructions. Index 2 is used as a mask to turn off selected teach pendant instructions. This mask only applies to instructions which you have loaded asoptions.

Still can't access the pos registers.
Perhaps the spot tool software does not have position registers.
What is the next thing to try.
Do you think I need to get new software to load?
