I have a problem with image backup of the FANUC 100i with RJ2 controller.

I can't make image backup in controlled start mode. After turning on the controller and performing controlled start there isn't right option in menu.

Is another way  to make image backup of this controller?
Does the controller have any system variables which change makes image backup possible?

Thanks for help:)

I think you have to do an boot menu start (F1 + F5). option 4 should be controller backup/restore

Image Backups started with R-J3.  On an R-J2 system you can only do Controller Backups through the Controlled Start mode and Controlled Start 2 menus to Backup Controller or Restore Controller.

Hello,

I have tried to do image backup through boot menu: controlled start and controlled start 2 menu, and there is not option for backup the controller.
How can I load controller backup option to my controller?

Get into a controlled start.  Select File-->Backup Should be on the F4 key, then select controller.  Its been a long while.  Also, you need 2mb SRAM cards and the Fanuc card extender to connect to backplane.  (Or use Kfloppy).  Kinda hard to find these days!

Did you have any luck with the backup of your RJ2. I have the same set up and seem to be having the same problem. The is not a controller option under the backup menu. I have also  tried to backup the FROM using the MCARD option on the BMON screen but I am having trouble with that as well. Thanks.

Hello,

Unfortunately in RJ2 controller "controller backup" is an option that isn't installed as standard :(

Thanks for help.

That's true. I ran into this the other day with an arcmate robot. The original BMON was v4.15 and didn't have the option for controller backup and by the way, the ability to check the FROM, SRAM and CMOS. I installed v4.22 BMON and it had the option for controller backup and the ability to check the memory chips.

So check your version of BMON to see if you have the correct one. There is a difference.
