Is it possible to control a Fanuc robot utilizing an AB Panelview C600, connected via Cat5 only? Has anyone actually done this?

Need to only call 8 simple programs for corresponding parts, have the panelview and robot connected via Cat5 ethernet, but not sure where to go from there.

Any help for a new guy would be super appreciated.

I think that you can't controll the robot that way with the panel view, but if you are using a panel view with the plc, you can controll the robot with the plc you only nee to use some inputs for calling the programs. you can use DIs or use PNS programs.

You can use KepServer (included with AB StudioView or Factory Talk lately) to build the link between Pannelview Plus and R30iA through Ethernet. Not sure about standard PanelView. A more straight forward option is using QuickPanel HMI from GE and SNPX option in R30iA to link them though RS232. It is cheaper and easier.
