Hi,

I know this is probably a relatively simple thing to figure out, but the eDoc CDs I have aren't very easy to work through, to find the information you need. Since I'm in somewhat of a hurry, I was hoping someone could tell me how to get my robot to operate at full speed.

It is a LR Mate 200iC 5L arm and R-30iA Mate controller. The controller has a 2 position switch, Auto and T1 (<250 mm/s). I have written my program using the teach pendant and, although it is supposed to work in synchronization with a PLC, I am relatively certain that if the program runs non stop, it will synchronize properly.

That is all I can think of that needs saying. If I left something important out, let me know. I want my robot to go fast! dance2

Both, ultimately. But Manual is fine for now.

If you want to go full speed in manual, you will need a T2 switch (unless all your moves are less then 250mm/sec).

You can kind of get around this by putting the robot in single step, setting it to local in system config, turning off uops, and the just hammer the cycle start button on the panel to see each move at 100%. This will treat each move as a fine though. Turn off single step if you want to see it run full bore continuously.

Make sure you are well away from the robot and its path if you use local auto or T2.

I don't have a T2 switch :(

How do I turn off uops, and how do I control which program runs when I hit the cycle start button?

Thanks :)

To turn off uops (and to set it to local) hit menu, then next, then select system, then select config.

The uop enable will be named "Enable UI signals:" it is number 7 on 7.5 software. Set this to false. You may not need to do this step. On cells I've worked on the PLC usually sends the hold signal if the robot is in auto and the PLC is not.

To change it to local, that will be named "Remote/Local setup:" it is number 45 on 7.5 software. Select Local.

Once these are set the robot will start from whatever program you have selected on whatever line you have selected when you press the cycle start button on the robot cabinet. Make sure to run it slow on your first try.

Set it back once you are done, otherwise the robot will ignore all start signals from the PLC.
