I am hooking up 4 s-430i fanuc robots and am trying to figure the input power requirements....tha transformer has a number that is not listed and when I hook 440 up to it it blows fuse F1 on the power unit board...HELP!!!!!!...could it be 220?

What is the X-former's part number? What is the robot controller's model/series?

With the main disconnect switch off, what is the phase-to-phase (A-B, A-C, B-C) and phase-to ground voltages (A-G, B-G, C-G) of input power?

I don't particularly like this one, but, if you disconnect plug-in connector CP1 on the PSU, what AC voltage do you measure across pins 1 and 2 of the plug-in connector CP1 with the main breaker/disconnect on?

The transformer # is A81l-0001-0151.....I am not at work now to get the other readings...it is a rj3 controller and a s-430i robot

You will need a  drop of 480 V to the transformer this will convert it to the needed power and depending on what your application is you may need more drops.

An electrical drop or service I mean the actual electrical service coming into the controller.

I have 480 going in...the voltage readings are:

a-b 491
A-c 492
b-c 488

a-ground  317
b-ground  283
c-ground  249

It is a rj3 r1a controller

Yes that power now goes into your main disconnect which then should go to your transformer which in turn will provide the needed power for the controller. where is your transformer? Do you have a external transformer that provides power to operating systems or are you using the internal transformer on the controller?

Are you certain the part number you have is for the main transformer?

I searched for parts online and for A81L-0001-XXXX find FANUC REACTORS.

The 3-phase transformer should be located in the back of the robot controller's cabinet.

Also, the phase-to-ground voltages you measured don't mathematically make sense - well, phase B looks okay.

Could there be a wiring error in the mains before (outside) the controller?

the transformer is located at the back of the lower controller panel...I agree that they do not make sense either,

Did you measure the power with the disconnect off or on ? Off will be the true output of the xmer, no load applied. That will tell us more about the xmer

I agree you power reading to ground make no sense and seem to be wrong.
