I'm new to fanuc controllers.  I mainly work with motoman.  I'm retooling a fanuc cell to run a different part.  I'm having trouble figuring out how the fanuc actually executes its programs.  When we run multiple jobs in our motoman cells, we use a master job that calls up different sub jobs depending on the logic.  I would assume that the fanuc is fairly similar, but i can find nothing in the controller that resemble a master job.  If I could find out where the controller calls up the current job I could simply change the job name to my new job name?

Hi cheater

Welcome to the robot-forum

Look in the Fanuc forum for PNS, RSR,  even my last post titled "PNS vs Huh?"

You can do in Fanuc exactly what you do in Motoman, the key issue is the setup on the parameters/variables  which is not difficult. You can create your master program and call your subprograms using group of outputs.

What controller do you have ?

I will have to check and see which controller model it is tomorrow.  This controller should have something already set up in it. Where can I see what conditions call what jobs?  Is this something that I would see in the PLC or something that I would access through the teach pendent.

This is what I'm used to seeing.

CALL JOB:1 IF IN#1=ON
CALL JOB:2 IF IN#2=ON
CALL JOB:3 IF IN#3=ON

Press SELECT, you'll see a program list
Press Type and select TP only, then you will only see  the program similar to the jbi in Motoman. Tell me if you see a bunch of RSR001, RSR002, etc or PNS001, PNS002, etc or do you see anything call MAIN or MASTER or similar.

I found what I needed. I had to change the job number in the style detail.

That's what I thought it was.
