OK, there are a few possibilities as to your problem.  First, are there 4 or 5 dashes that show up under the checksum (the numbers displayed).  if there are, then there is a good chance that the communications line on the pendant/cable is damaged.

Check the voltage of the Lithium battery (attached to the CPU or Power supply), and if it is over 2.9 volts you are fine (although anything under 3 volts and you should replace the battery).  If this is low, then there is a good possibility that you have lost your core software.

Before reloading core, I would force the robot to do a CTRL start.  if it goes into a CTRL start, then its only a minor software corruption, and you can at least do a backup from there.

Good luck

Thank you for your suggestions   i have my suspicion that the tp cable is not sending info to controller the only function that seems to be working is dead man switch . would be good if i could find out pin numbers so i can do a continuity test on lead from end to end or do i need to buy another one at this point i would not be able to preform any other tests as stated as pendant wont boot up if that is the right way of explaining thanks

Did you check the state of the status and alarm indicators on Main CPU PCB?
