I'm trying to connect an R30 controller to a PLC. I need to be able to send and receive a 24volt pulse from the controller. I've set the configuration to simple crma16. I'm using Pin 41 which is DO(109) and when I monitor it on the teach pendant it shows up as turning on and off. It doesn't show up on the PLC. I've got the common connected to PIN 17 and +24volts to pin 49. Just for fun I took the common from PIN 17 and hooked it up to PIN 49 and that made the input on the PLC turn on. Then I removed the wire that was connected to PIN 41 moved it around the other pins in the same row and the input was on for all of them. I'm pretty new to all of this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

HI Redford:
Welcome to robot-forum

Where exactly (location on the controller ) are these  pins 41,49, etc?
Do you have a I/o rack with modules ? What's crma16 ?

I've seen Robot-PLC communication through ethernet, devicenet, remoteio, card, but What's crma16 ?

Are you referring to the discrete IO connector?

Do you have a process IO board in your controller?

Sounds like you're trying to get some PDI signals working in a MATE controller.

Refer to the Peripheral Device Interface info in the Connections section of your R-30iA Mate Controller Maintenance Manual if you have one.

There's a note that suggests that pins DOSRC1 and DOSRC2 in CRMA15 and CRMA16 are for providing power to the  drivers and that none of these pins can be open.
