Hi friends!
I  want to import the layout to the Robcad, How can I do?

      I do like this:
       step1: Saveing the *.dwg  files as *.dxf files  in  AUTOCAD;
step2: In Robcad,  use the "Data\CAD Import" ,but it can't works!

1. the dxf has to be a version R14 dxf file.

2. you need to convert the dxf to unix format (you may have a dos2unix converter installed on the robcad pc, or you can convert it with an advanced text editor - ultraedit or textpad4)

3. you also need the dxf to robcad converter license.

Hi All,

No, robcad version doesnt matter.

check,

1. U r running to_unix command only on C drive (that to in administrator login if u r working in org.)

2. Give path directly to c drive (not any folder in c drive)

3. TO_UNIX command is unique for all software. it has nothing to do wt Robcad. u can use same dxf file in other software.

plz note above thing and let me know.

With regards,

Rahul

robcad dxf translator only works on R12 version dxf files that have been saved / converted to unix format, unless it has changed since robcad 7.5.1 (but i dont think so as it has only worked on r12 dxf files since robcad 3.7 or earlier)

i think your IT department have installed robcad wrong, if you have to be directly in C: drive to run "to_unix" and have admin rights on your computer to run it.

Any user can run to_unix if robcad etc... have been installed correctly you do not need admin rights to run it.

You do seem to have to be in the same drive that you have robcad installed but you can be in any folder on that drive and just type in this to the command prompt:

to_unix  <windows filename and extension>  <desired unix filename and extension>

N.B. dont include the <> symbols.
