You could write easy script (for example), which will set a frames (with some position of frame increment) on demand picked surface(s) and generate easy path locations. But hemming process from offline is only more or less good. Too many things has the influence on process, so good path is only one of them :)
Regards.

 :n1:hello,joker and Ynze:
I just want to know which  module in robcad  can simulate hemming work, such as arc welding use arc module, but I can't  find  a module about hemming !!
In addition ,I want to know how to creat a exact curve on the product to generate  path?

use spot, you can only simulate the basic path with hemming (reach checking) as it takes a lot of modification once the program is in the robot by the robot programmer.

To generate a path that follows the parts curvature exactly use the method outlined in steps 4,5,6 and 7 in the following link.

question is how much work do you want to put in the simulation and what is the result.
e.g. If the customer does not demand a full glue OLP we never do that. We make a reachability study. We determine best order of glueing etc. But exact programming of locations is useless. Robcad is the ideal world. Oilfree panels, no gravity absolute accurate robots etc etc. Practice has proven that paths sometimes need to be adjusted drastically if we went to all the trouble of creating a full download.

I have no experience with rollerhemming but I can imagine that that process is of a same difficulty to master. So I would like to see some test results before going into depth.

The method from my previous post should give a a full reach check (to ensure you can perform each side of the hem in a continuous single motion without removing the hemming tool from the part to reorientate the tool) as normally you would redo the path about 3 times to gradually turn the metal over the flange, using different rollers on each pass.

Hi, You've got the good receipt from simspec, but as I wrote - little script and automate it.
I've never saw special module to hemming - it is only  icon_wink driving robot tcp from start point to end point  icon_wink
To control hemming process (is only in my opinion of course) from offline is not possible.
Of course, to prepair nice path - ok, but after geometry of part, elastic-plastic of material properties, tcp, uframe/base and another things - this knowlede gives a real information about this process.
I spoke with guys which was doing everyting in the right way but unfortunatelty nothing was working and they just damaged car by car  icon_smile

hi,everybody
Thanks for your help !! :icon_smile:I am a beginner with hemming simulation in robcad ,but robcad doesn,t have hemming module ,I think I can use seal and cut module to simulate the hemming work, rignt? Thanks all!!!
