Hi everybody,

I decide to buy an ABB IRB 6400 used robot. Can someone learn me how should I check this robot before buying? Which parts normally should checked carefully? What is the best way of the check? Can someone send me the checklist titles?

Many thanks before,

Hi there,

at this very moment my colleague and I are working on a thesis work to install a ABB IRB 1400 (from 1994) robot for welding application. In the second halve of June were hoping to finish with a presentation and a written thesis work.

Our current employer has all rights for this work. But if you are interrested, we could make a deal with my employer...

Kind regards,
arne

Hi,
Thank you but I think IRB 6400 is very different with IRB 1400. IRB 6400 has higher payload and different manipulator mechanism and normally used for spot welding and material handling (means good point to point accuracy) but IRB 1400 normally use for arcwelding (means good path accuracy). in the controller setting view may you are right but I want to ask an expert who works with this type of robots what is their main normal problems and what should I do to check a second hand 6400 to buy a good one.
Best regards,
